The Beachside Relief Society (women's group) collected donations and met to put together donation boxes for children at the Orangewood Foundation and tie blankets for widows in the ward.
Orangewood provides temporary care for children between the time they are removed from their homes and placed into foster care. It is a devastating time for children who are often being removed from neglectful or abusive situations and these boxes "provide a little bit of love and comfort for them."
Nearly $1,000 were donated by sisters in the ward which allowed the supplies to be purchased and which were then boxed up and delivered.
The night also included tying blankets for the widows in the congregation.
