Elder Shintaku - Week 6

My first transfer on my mission is finally done that's so crazy to think about. It has been a long 6 weeks here but like it has now felt so quick. This week was overall pretty chill just some unexpected things occurred.

Monday- Pday we went to the capital to get my medical immigration done. Thankfully it only took like 30 minutes so that was sick. After we tried to go get an uber so we could get home but our phone just stopped working so that was fun. So we just decided to start walking haha. We walked for like an hour and then it started to rain so we just kinda tried to wait it out. So basically we were stuck in the capital with no phone and no Google maps so... Eventually we were able to get into a car and this guy took us to where we needed to go. Yeah but when we got into the car there were already like 4 people, so we just fit like 7 people into a Toyota camry so a pretty eventful day.

Tues- pretty awesome I got to do my first exchange so that was super cool. I got to lead the area and the day went well we got to have some great lessons and it was just a super interesting experience to have.

Weds- we worked super hard to get as many lessons as we could. Our goal for our mission is to teach 12 lessons a day and I think we got somewhere close to 10 it's awesome all the people are always so nice and accepting to listen to us.

Thurs- our power went out. We didn't have power in our house from Thur- sat so that wasn't fun we had to eat a lot of our food before we went bad but we were surviving on rice and beans for those couple of days. But I guess that's just part of the mission.

Basically that's all that happened this week. Missionary life is so fun and I get to learn so much every day. But that doesn't mean it's easy. Some days I just wanna lay down take a nap or go surfing. But it's so awesome here I just wanna keep working hard and brining the gospel into people's lives

This scripture was something I was reading this morning that really inspired me today!

Mosiah 17:9-10

9 Now Abinadi said unto him: I say unto you, I will not recall the words which I have spoken unto you concerning this people, for they are true; and that ye may know of their surety I have suffered myself that I have fallen into your hands. 10 Yea, and I will suffer even until death, and I will not recall my words, and they shall stand as a testimony against you. And if ye slay me ye will shed innocent blood, and this shall also stand as a testimony against you at the last day.
