Hola a todos!
Hope you're all doing fantastic and that your week went great! This week was definitely a slower one, with lots of friends canceling, people not responding, etc. Etc. But that's just mission life in general, so nothing new!
Jesús has unfortunately been struggling on his path to baptism. It seems that there are a million roadblock in his way that are stopping him from being fully committed and ready. He's having a hard time dropping cigarettes, an even harder time than stopping drinking and hard drugs. He also has been facing some constant financial problems and more recently some health problems that are preventing us from meeting with him. Please, everybody, keep him in your prayers. He's super ready to be baptized, and he has a pure desire. I have faith that we can still baptize him this month! But I ask you all for your faith as well!
Our recent convert John's wife, Leady, gave birth finally! They welcomed in Theo yesterday afternoon into the world and mama and baby are doing great. They were pretty stressed about the birth because I think the baby was a little overdue, but all turned out fantastic! May or may not see some baby pictures next week!
We also had a transfer meeting this week to discuss what stuff is going to look like when all the old missionaries go home early this transfer. They're leaving two weeks early to get back in time for school, and that includes my companion. So we're organizing everybody into trios for a couple weeks. We also got some crazy news for next transfer stuff, that's not really fixed yet, but there are going to be a TON of changes. I can't say any more because 1. There are other missionaries in this mission on this list and 2. President specifically told us not to say anything. So, we'll see what happens next week at our second transfer meeting!
Last Tuesday, I also hit my 1 year mark in the mission. It's a little hard to believe that it's been this long already. I'm on the downhill stretch now and I'm so PUMPED. I got a whole other year serving the Lord! I've had some members tell me things like, "oh, you still have a year? Don't worry it goes fast..." WHATEVER! Give me more time, I don't care! The more time I spend out here in the field I love it more. It's such an honor to serve God full time and to feel His love every day. Those of you thinking about serving missions, do it! Its 110% worth it. I'm so excited to spend one more year serving God. And it's only getting better from here!
