Happy New Years! We have had a ton of fun these past few holidays here in Colombia! Everybody here started drinking Christmas Eve and hasn't stopped, and News year’s eve was an absolute war zone at midnight, I have never seen so many fireworks in my life ⚡️⚡️. It was a great way to finish my last full year on the mission, I have like 6 months left. It has gone by so fast, and I have learned so many things!!
A funny experience we had two days ago: we called one of our investigadores, Leder, and a different dude answered. He said that he had robbed the phone from Leder the night before, and that we probably shouldn't call that number back. We then had a 30-minute phone conversation with the thief teaching him about the commandments, reading off scriptures to him, and telling him that he needs to repent. He started to cry but, in the end, said that he would never give phone back. He was drunk so we also smoothly were able to get all his information out if him 🤣. Gracias Fabian for one of the funniest experiences of my mission!
We helped random people move and then taught them in their new house! I have learned that service is one of the best ways to reach people.
We have a baptism date for January 21st, Elkin! He us reading the Book of Mormon like crazy and is already finishing Alma! Finding people like that makes me so happy.
Random facts:
-Spent like $40.000 pesos one day and made a big salad for lunch. First time eating a salad in my whole mission haha
-I bought some overly expensive protein powder
-We took a bici-taxi (Cinderella carriage/motorcycle) to a lesson and the people driving it were two 9-year-olds! One on the steering wheel, one on the pedals, Colombian style!
I'm still loving the mission, todo bien out here! 🇨🇴❤️🇨🇴
