Hola hola, How is everything going? I am sorry for not emailing the past few weeks, I haven't had much time. There is a lot to catch up on, but I won't make this too long. So everything has been crazy since I last did an email, so I kind of will just give the rundown of what has happened so far this transfer, so forgive as I backtrack a little bit. So It was really Sad to leave Las Matas behind, and Saying goodbye to Elder Lykins and Elder Byers was tough, but I am sure we will see each other again. Elder Williams and I left for San Juan to stay the night before getting on the gua gua to the capital. We had so sad goodbyes with the Elders from San Juan, and we got on the gua gua at around 5-5:30. We got dropped off one by one, I said goodbye to Elder Williams, my trainer, and got to reflect on the ride to the capital, thinking that I am a full blown missionary now, and that training was finally over. We went to the church where everyone meets up in the capital and got our stuff loaded onto cars and vans. I got to meet Elder Shintaku's new comp, and the guy is a beast, he is a blacksmith and is making a walking stick with a pull-out sword. I was hyped to hear about that. I got to say goodbye to Elder Perron which was really sad as this is his last transfer so I probably won't get to see him again. Anyway, I got to briefly meet my new companion Elder Watkins and we left for our house. Elder Watkins is a beast and I love him so much, everynight he asks me to tell him all about Star Wars, so for most nights I have been going through every movie in order and giving him all the details about something I probably know a little too much about. We have been working hard in Piantini, it has been tough with not being able to contact people inside their houses in the great towers of the capital. It has been tough walking 30 minutes everyday to our area, but I'll live. We had one baptism and were supposed to have two others that ended up getting canceled due to some unforeseen circumstances, but things have been great.
I got to buy some LEGOs at the LEGO store in our area, which was cool, lots of new Mario LEGOs with the new movie coming out, which I will be sad to miss, but I know it will be there when I get back. Three fun things I forgot to mention, one I have a pizza addiction, two I had to have surgery for an ingrown toenail, and three almost got run over by oncoming traffic. Pizza is good, surgery, not so good, getting run over bad. From the words of Elder Kirby, walk like a Dominican, as we proceed to almost die.
On a more spiritual note, Elder Watkins and I have been listening a lot recently to talks about comparisons and positivity. I personally need to be more positive, and I have realized that a lot of what my problems in life have been caused by are comparisons and being two pessimistic. I know that I don't have the best Spanish, and I won't be good at it for a long time, but the Lord will provide, we just have to give Him everything we've got. He once told Peter (paraphrasing here) that what Peter desired in being quickly taken up into heaven to live in the kingdoms of God quickly was a good desire, and that when John had wished to continue preaching the Gospel on this earth until Christ came again was also a great desire, Christ does't compare each of us to each other, he compares us to our previous selves. Life isn't a race against each other, he cheers each of us on equally. He loves us Equally and Infinitely. I challenge everyone to live a more positive life, even when times get tough. We can do this. I know that we can. I am going to work on being a more positive person and you all can too. I say these things humbly, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
I hope you all have a great week, I love you all so much.
