An exodus from wickedness v.1 — Throughout scripture the Lord requires His people to exit the ways of the world and enter into His kingdom wherein is a fullness of joy. The abandonment of apostate Jerusalem begins the Book of Mormon which had been preceded by a Jaredite abandonment and a Sodom and Gomorrah abandonment and will be again played out in the 19th Century as the Saints abandon their Nauvoo. It also happens less dramatically in individual lives as people submit to ordinances of the priesthood requiring them to abandon practices of the world. Exodus precedes Leviticus not only in the Bible but also in our lives as we submit to the law of God following our exit from wickedness.
